The Role

Imperial Brands, an inclusive, innovative global FMCG business supported by 25,000 employees is investing in building a Global Business Services Team. Working as part of the Finance Centre of Capability (CoC), the role is to be part of the Tax & Statutory Reporting team supporting the Group’s compliance with internal and regulatory tax requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing local statutory accounting and reporting processes for the assigned countries in EMEA region.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Prepare statutory filings adhering to Local GAAP requirements, including all notes and disclosures.
  • Reconcile between local GAAP and IFRS, including local GAAP account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate calendars with external auditors, internal stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Provide support for external audits, liaising with auditors and managing audit deliverables.
  • Manage the statutory calendar and support local tax provision calculation and income tax return processes.
  • Interpret and implement local accounting policies/standards.
  • Handle miscellaneous reporting filings, such as statistical reporting.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and drive implementation for compliance, quality, and process efficiency.
  • External Audit support, liaison with external auditors and coordination of audit deliverables.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong accounting expertise, able to act as focal point between different stakeholders, multitask and meet fixed deadlines.
  • Accounting and statutory reporting experience in an international environment
  • Experience in managing full local statutory compliance process for selected European countries.
  • Strong computer skills, particular experience with Excel and SAP
  • Professional proficiency of English, German language would be an asset.
  • ACCA qualification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and deal with time constraints while effectively managing deadlines.
  • A sound business sense with excellent numerical skills.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and drive for excellence.
