About the role
The Accounts Payable Specialist performs accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
Key responsibilities
Calculate, post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payablerecords, and provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization; Review and verify invoices and check requests; Sort, code and match invoices; Set up invoices for payment; Book expenses and process expense reports; Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments; Prepare and perform check runs; Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records; Reconcile accounts payable transactions; Prepare analysis of accounts; Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date; Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues; Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries; Assist with month-end closing; Provide relevant information to external and internal auditors. Establish and maintain work instructions
