Job Description And Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a Software developer with excellent software and data engineering skills and expertise in Java technologies. The candidate will be involved in hands-on software development and testing activities. The candidate should be a motivated self-starter and quick learner.
This role will be part of Digital Marketing Experience, Benefits & Loyalty team in Value Added Services group at Visa.
Responsibilities
Develop, and implement new software systems, using technical knowledge of computer science and engineering principles. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Collaborate with other software engineers, product managers, user experience designers, and others to deliver features that meet user needs. Write unit tests, and contribute to improving code quality in the codebase. Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and present solutions. Document software and features for internal and external engineering teams. Continually update technical knowledge and skills. Have a passion for delivering zero defect code and be responsible for ensuring the team's deliverables meet or exceed the prescribed defect SLA. Coordinate and participate in continuous integration activities, automation frameworks for testing and deployments etc.This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experiencePreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Strong foundation in Computer Science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Knowledge in Big Data/ Hadoop/ Spark/ Scala is a plus. Proficiency in Core Java development concepts and design patterns. Previous experience in a software engineer role is preferred. Proficiency or willingness to learn UI stack using advanced JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS is a plus. Quick learner with strong problem-solving skills. Able to work in an Agile development environment using methodologies like SCRUM.
