Section Team Leader Middle Ops Job Description

At Brown Brothers Harriman, we are seeking a highly skilled Section Team Leader Middle Ops to join our Middle Office Cash administration and Collateral Management team. As a key member of our Operations Line of Business, you will be responsible for the management and direction of a specific function within the department. Your direct oversight of activities and issues will impact the achievement of the department's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for day-to-day technical or functional expertise in assigned areas and directs the activity of supervisors and staff.
  • Understands competencies required for successful job performance and uses knowledge to coach and develop supervisors and team members.
  • Develops and maintains a plan to ensure the unit has appropriate resources to meet business objectives of the department.
  • Develops employees by providing training, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, and challenging assignments.
  • Leverages knowledge to identify training needs and develops a culture of results-oriented, continuous process improvement.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives and develops new products and workflows to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and control.

Desired Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Securities Processing, Financial Services, Collateral Management and/or Fund Accounting /Transfer Agency experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Effective people management and leadership skills.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of BBH's Departments/LOBs, systems, and services.
  • Customer Service orientation.
  • Demonstrated excellence in Written/Verbal communications.
