About the Role


At William Hill, we're on a journey to build a better business. As a Strategic Solutions Designer, you'll be part of our Architecture team, responsible for designing and developing architectural frameworks for high-volume, low-latency applications in mission-critical systems.


Your Key Responsibilities



  • Working with peers to define the Architecture strategy for the business unit, taking into account current and future requirements.
  • Ensuring assigned projects follow the overall architectural strategy and processes, as well as designing and implementing end-to-end solutions.
  • Leading and participating in architectural reviews of software, infrastructure, data, and other architectures.
  • Verifying the implementation of assigned projects, ensuring delivered systems are consistent with agreed architecture and meet requirements.
  • Ensuring all IS systems meet processing, storage, and network capacity and performance requirements.
  • Completing project architectural and design documentation.
  • Assisting with development and implementation of processes, standards, and best practices for operational support teams.

  • Experience in Application/Solutions Architecture for high-volume, low-latency applications in mission-critical systems.
  • Broad understanding of technologies and frameworks such as Java, SpringBoot, JavaScript, TypeScript, nodejs, React, ActiveMQ, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL).
  • Good understanding of architectural design principles, particularly Micro-service architecture, and IT system environments, operating systems, networking, applications, and databases.
  • Experience working with 3rd party development partners remote and/or co-located.
