Network Operations and Support Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Support Engineer to join our team at ROCKWOOL Group.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the network operation, including resolution of network-related incidents, execution of change requests, maintenance and operations tasks, and development activities within complex distributed network infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of network-related protocols like DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, and stateful packet inspection. Experience with Cisco network products and network monitoring and troubleshooting tools is a must.
The main areas of responsibility will include:
- Performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network issues, ensuring prompt resolution to minimize downtime and maximize network performance.
- Implementing network changes and upgrades while adhering to change management processes and minimizing disruption to end-users.
- Daily operation of Cisco network solutions, including SDWAN and SDA.
- Developing and maintaining network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Implementing and maintaining network security measures and intrusion prevention systems, using Cisco FMC.
- Configuring policies in Cisco ISE according to requirements, 802.1X implementation, deployment of Cisco Trustsec and SGTs.
- Monitoring network performance and proactively identifying and addressing bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, and capacity limitations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and promoting knowledge sharing and a collaborative work environment.
- Traveling up to 30 days per year due to the company's global presence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience as a network engineer or similar role, with a focus on implementation and maintenance of Cisco network products.
- Holder of CCNP or CCNA certificate.
- Knowledge and experience in services supporting network functionality (DHCP, DNS), routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP, VTP), stateful packet inspection, Cisco FMC, and Cisco ISE.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve network issues effectively.
- Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Minimum basic experience in wireless, preferably Cisco 9800-series WLCs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Polish.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
