Tariff Classification Specialist

Transforming Global Trade with Tariff Classification Expertise

Caterpillar is seeking a skilled Tariff Classification Specialist to join our trade compliance team in Sosnowiec. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our classification processes.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Assign Tariff Classification for all Caterpillar lines of products and their parts, dealer tools, and associated goods moving across borders for the enterprise.
• Identify and impact the admissibility into destination country, duties owed, quotas, special trade program eligibility, sanctions, etc.
• Provide and apply accurate Import and Export Tariff Classification using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule for Europe - TARIC, U.S Customs Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Dubai tariff book, South Africa tariff book, and similar versions from other countries.
• Collaborate with other divisions to ensure the effectiveness of processes (Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics).
• Have regular contact with requestors and external customers.

Requirements:

• Good analytical skills and the ability to transform numerical data into information.
• Knowledge of technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Polish.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Open-minded personality.
