Senior Linux System Software Engineer

Intel's Software Architecture Technology Group (SATG) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux System Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our System Software Architecture (SSA) team, you will be responsible for enabling Intel's broad portfolio of products and technologies across the Linux ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on Linux operating systems and open-source technologies. You will work closely with our architects and engineers to design, develop, integrate, test, validate, and debug software across multiple layers of the stack, including firmware, drivers, operating systems, middleware, frameworks, algorithms, and applications/UI.
As a self-starter with a growth-oriented mindset, you will be interested in learning new technologies and making them usable. You will also have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work and navigate across multiple organizations within Intel and external partners.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, integrate, test, validate, and debug software across multiple layers of the stack.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to deliver an OS Vendor consumable solution for Intel technology adoption.
- Work closely with the Linux community and Operating System Vendors to co-engineer and drive adoption.
- Analyze complex systems and data, provide insights, and drive solutions.
- Develop and maintain software using open-source technologies and languages.
- Experience with source control (git) and CI/CD flows for systems (github, gitlab, Jenkins, etc).
- Familiarity with containerized environments like Docker/Kubernetes.
- A Master's degree with 5+ years' experience in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Experience with developing Operating System software leveraging open-source technologies and languages.
- Experience with source control (git) and CI/CD flows for systems.
- Self-Starter with a growth-oriented mindset and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work and navigate across multiple organizations within Intel and external partners.
- Experience contributing to Linux vendor products (RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu) and/or working with associated Open-Source Linux communities (Fedora, Debian, etc).
- Experience with building and packaging software for downstream use.
- Familiarity with CI/CD flows for systems and modern QA practices/infrastructure.
- Experience working with and debugging unstable hardware, identify system-level issues (firmware, hardware, or OS).
- Experience working on containerized environments like Docker/Kubernetes.
