Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team in Krakow, Poland. As a key member of the Corporate Finance team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality customer service to Verisk business units and management teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve monthly journal entries in Verisk's accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data in accordance with US GAAP and Corporate Accounting policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate generation of financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders, leveraging your expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Liaise with Business Units to complete various SOX controls around Internally Developed Software, maintaining appropriate documentation for all responsible SOX controls.
  • Support the audit process by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions, demonstrating your attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Prepare complex monthly balance sheet reconciliation, reviewing and analyzing account reconciliations prepared by junior staff members.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of discrepancies and reconciling items in a timely manner, showcasing your leadership skills and ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Actively participate in the monthly closing process, including expense and balance sheet account analysis pertaining to owned areas, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the general ledger function, contributing to the enhancement of accounting procedures.
  • Participate in work transition from various locations and lead special projects and initiatives as needed, demonstrating your adaptability and willingness to learn.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, with a Master's degree in accounting or a related field required.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is mandatory, with basic German language skills beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to multi-task and set priorities, are crucial for this role.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop junior staff members are essential for success in this position.

Estimated Salary: We offer a competitive salary range of €60,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. This estimate is based on industry standards and the location of Krakow, Poland.
