About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Architect to lead the planning, definition, development, and high-level design of complex product solutions and architectural alternatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of shipping high-quality products and be responsible for enabling a continuous delivery pipeline through proper design guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and participate in the planning, definition, development, and high-level design of complex product solutions and architectural alternatives.
  • Enable a continuous delivery pipeline through proper design guidelines.
  • Define and communicate system interfaces, data structures, data storage, integrations, cybersecurity considerations, test automation concepts, and deployment approaches.
  • Establish and communicate critical nonfunctional requirements.
  • Consider the impact economic boundaries have on design decisions and operate accordingly.
  • Participate in solution planning, incremental planning, product demos, and inspect and adapt events.
  • Plan and develop the architectural runway for a product that supports desired business outcomes.
  • Provide technical oversight and encourage security, quality, and automation.
  • Effectively negotiate with the business to ensure nonfunctional work (e.g., patching, platform upgrade etc.) is properly prioritized and worked on to reduce the accumulation of technical debt over time.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent education.
  • 8+ years of experience in the software industry with a proven track record of shipping high-quality products.
  • Extensive experience utilizing best practices in software engineering.
  • Expert level understanding of Microsoft Azure, Azure functions, durable functions, and NoSQL databases.
  • Expert level understanding of API management (such as Apigee Edge) and microservices architecture.
  • Expert level skills in Java and associated IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ, etc.) and familiar with C#/.NET.
  • Experience with multiple cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, including Azure fundamentals certification (AZ900).
  • Expert level understanding of software design principles, design patterns, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts.
  • Extensive experience developing enterprise-grade, highly scalable, highly performant applications and/or distributed systems.
  • Expert level understanding of DevSecOps, CI, and CD principles from code check-in through to deployment and monitoring.
  • Extensive experience with modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.
  • Solid understanding and proven usage of cybersecurity concepts such as encryption, hashing, certificates, PKIs, threat modeling, secure coding, and OWASP.
  • Salesforce experience with Service Cloud and Manufacturing Cloud is ideal.
  • Experience working with subscription management or web content management platforms is a plus.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to explain and present technical concepts to all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable working directly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills.
  • Patience and empathy when working with and coaching developers and testers.
  • Extensive experience working with diverse, global cultures, organizations, and teams.

The estimated salary for this role is around $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
