**R&D Packaging Specialist Position**

We are seeking a talented R&D Packaging Specialist to join our team at Antal Sp. z o.o. This role will focus on identifying packaging needs, transforming them into improvements, and driving cost reduction through rationalization of packaging materials and supplier diversification.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Identify Packaging Needs: Collaborate with business, production facilities, and customer complaints to identify packaging needs and transform them into packaging improvements.
  • Translate Packaging Challenges: Translate packaging challenges into defined needs for new materials and capabilities.
  • Define, Design, and Implement Packaging Improvements: Define, design, and implement packaging improvements, considering all internal and external factors.
  • Drive Cost Reduction: Drive cost reduction through rationalization of packaging materials and supplier diversification.
  • Assess Requests: Assess requests from a technical point of view and discuss feasibility with Operations, QA, Engineering, Sourcing, and R&D.
  • Implement New Packaging Materials: Initiate and lead the implementation of new packaging materials and concepts on BC production lines.
  • Define Trial Protocols: Define appropriate trial protocols and lead trial execution, collection of results, and analysis.
  • Align Departments: Align and inform all departments on project progress, roadblocks, and next steps.
  • SPOC for Packaging Families: Be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for one or several packaging families/topics in the region.
  • Training and Development: Train people on current packaging concepts and processes.
  • Travel: Regular travel, approximately 25% of the time.

**Requirements:**

  • Technical Degree: Technical degree in Science or (packaging) engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in developing packaging concepts and launching packaging projects in an industrial environment.
  • Project Management Skills: Project management skills.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, with additional languages a plus.
  • Experience with 2D Visualization Software: Experience and knowledge of 2D visualization software packages a plus.
  • Good Packaging Knowledge: Good packaging knowledge, partly built in the food industry (B2B or B2C).
  • Ability to Translate Ideas: Ability to translate ideas, offered solutions, and concepts into a functional packaging concept running on a packaging line.
  • Ability to Manage Multiple Projects: Ability to manage multiple projects autonomously, setting the right priorities.
