Calypso Application Specialist

Project Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Calypso Application Engineer to join our team at emagine Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct daily production and pre-production operations in the Calypso application.
  2. Monitor the CalMON system and perform daily sanity checks on the Calypso application.
  3. Analyze and resolve technical issues with Calypso teams and external teams.
  4. Manage IT services and ensure the smooth operation of the Calypso system.
  5. Provide functional and technical expertise on Calypso from both Front Office and Back Office perspectives.
  6. Manage requests, operations, monitoring, incidents, problems, and continuous improvement of services.
  7. Monitor the EOD workflow and ensure its seamless execution.
  8. Update and create documentation, participate in the change schedule, and attend daily meetings.
  9. Manage SLAs and KPIs, communicate with customers, and perform predictive analytics, consulting, and project execution.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of experience in support activities.
  2. Knowledge of the Calypso application (at least version V16 and V17) for 4+ years, with 2-3 years of experience in investment/trading banking operations.
  3. ITIL certification V3 or V4.
  4. Familiarity with major market regulatory bodies' rules is an advantage.
  5. Strong knowledge in Configuration Management, XML, SQL, PL/SQL, MQ Series, CFT, and Control-M.
  6. Knowledge of monitoring solutions, such as CalMon and Splunk.
  7. Proactive initiative to identify savings and efficient gains.
  8. Careful observance of standards and processes.
  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Strong analytical or troubleshooting skills.
  11. Ability to work well under pressure.
  12. Autonomous, self-motivated, and excellent team player.
  13. Strong perseverance and diligence.
  14. Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  15. Financial knowledge and background.
  16. Ability to follow and scale the skill matrix.
  17. Open to conducting deployments on weekends and after work hours.
  18. Experience with Capital Markets applications, such as Calypso and Murex, is an advantage.
