We are seeking a highly experienced Compliance Operations Director to join our team at Imperial Brands PLC.

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of effective internal control frameworks, ensuring robust assurance processes over financial and non-financial risks.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to drive business growth by establishing a culture of compliance within our Global Business Services (GBS) organization.

About the Role

As a key member of the GBS Leadership team, you will work closely with senior management to provide strategic direction and thought leadership on internal control frameworks.

You will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team of compliance specialists, establishing effective relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement internal control frameworks to ensure effective risk management and compliance.
  • Lead the GBS Compliance team, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish strategic objectives and drive business growth through compliance excellence.
  • Foster a culture of compliance within GBS, promoting a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of compliance activities and risks to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, providing expert advice to the business.
  • Requirements
    • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, or equivalent international qualification).
    • Extensive experience in internal control or compliance roles, with a proven track record of delivering results.
    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
    • Ability to analyze complex data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
