About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Engineer to join our Splunk Enterprise Security team. In this role, you will participate in the development of features that solve security analytics and operations use cases, working closely with Product Management, UX, and Customers. Your focus will be on building scalable, high-performance front-end solutions using our current stack, including React, Backbone.js, Webpack, Jest, Grunt, and React Testing Library.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement end-to-end UI flows, producing code, tests, and documentation, while supporting sprint management processes and communicating effectively with peers and managers.
  • Collaborate with Product and UI Research teams to advance usability and user experience.
  • Take ownership of front-end technologies in our application stack, focusing on security, resilience, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Understand backend interfaces and APIs to wire customer-facing UI flows.
  • Contribute to the design and development of multiple features in our ultra-high performance system, processing immense amounts of data.
  • Participate in project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing support of systems.
  • Work in an Agile environment, following scrum practices.
  • Identify and develop ways to improve team efficiency by expanding existing tools and processes, maintaining top-notch product quality.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience focused on front-end application development.
  • Experience building and launching successful user-centric products.
  • Proficiency with technologies in our stack: React, Backbone.js, Webpack, Jest, Grunt, React Testing Library.
  • A solid understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Experience building single-page, data-heavy web applications and asynchronous data handling using REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with agile and cloud-driven development processes using CI/CD systems.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of effective teamwork in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to architect technical solutions at a high level and dive into implementation details.
  • Capacity to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with minimal direction, demonstrating intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability, and positivity.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and tackle a wide variety of technical challenges.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proponent of test-driven development (TDD).
  • Experience with secure coding practices.
  • Code coverage solutions.
  • Knowledge about different module bundlers, beyond Webpack.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Splunk software is desirable but not required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $140,000 - $170,000, depending on location and experience.
