Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team at EPAM's Data Competency Center. This exciting opportunity will give you the chance to grow professionally and participate in a project for a leading technological giant.

The ideal candidate will have experience in close collaboration with clients, understanding business needs, and providing top-tier engineering experiences. You will be responsible for applying best practices to consistently create high-quality deliverables.

This project offers an excellent opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience with GCP (Pentaho, Kettle, Data prep), PLX/Data Studio (dashboards), and Big Query. You will have the chance to work on different applications that will extend your knowledge base quickly and help you get familiar with the client's internal stack.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the application up-to-date with new services and policies, including migration to new services.
  • Improve existing functionality and approaches.
  • Support successful executions of the whole data pipeline: from raw data to structured data and pushing it to Big Query and PLX dashboards.
  • Identify and fix potential issues with the data source.
  • Identify and fix (or escalate) potential issues with data itself.
  • Understand the logic behind queries related to business cases and valuable data for representation on dashboards.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and engineering leadership to intake knowledge for supporting the project.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in data engineering area.
  • Experience with creating ETL/ELT solutions.
  • Strong SQL skills: ability to read, modify, and create complex queries.
  • Good business analysis skills, ability to interpret, judge data quality, and summarize information accordingly.
  • B2+ English level proficiency.
