GPC Global Technology Center is a leading global service organization specializing in the distribution of automotive and industrial replacement parts.

Our team of highly skilled IT engineers focuses on developing advanced technologies and solutions that enhance our operations and growth.

The position requires a technologist & engineer at heart, comfortable with enabling new technology and hands-on execution of strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Leverage technical expertise to drive secure, reliable, scalable software solutions, collaborating with product teams to deliver results.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of business and system processes, interrelationships, dependencies, and interactions among system components.
  • Develop reusable JavaScript/Java code, integrating UI components with APIs and databases.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate UI components with APIs and databases.
  • Participate in user testing, incorporating feedback into design revisions to improve user experience.
  • Contribute to our design system, ensuring design consistency across all digital touchpoints.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product management and development teams to ensure seamless design delivery.
  • Stay current with the latest frontend/backend trends and technologies, integrating new ideas to innovate and maintain product competitiveness.
  • Optimize web applications for speed and performance, minimizing page load times and reducing HTTP requests.
  • Implement automated testing procedures for the front end to catch regressions and issues early in development.
  • Guide and resource other engineers on the team.
Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • 6+ years' experience in software development.
  • 3+ years of experience leading technology teams.
  • Programming languages: Java, JEE, functional programming.
  • Cloud-native microservices using Spring Boot or equivalent.
  • Cloud computing on at least one major provider (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure).
  • Javascript frontend technologies.
  • SAP Hybris, Commerce tools experience a plus.
  • Complex eCommerce organizations experience a plus.
