Job Description:

Hatch is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team as a Plant Layout Specialist. This role will be responsible for designing and modeling mechanical equipment in 3D, ensuring that all designs meet industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and model mechanical equipment using MicroStation software
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers from other disciplines to ensure coordination and clash detection
  • Develop and verify models using vendor data and drawings
  • Generate 2D drawings from 3D models as required
  • Conduct operability and maintainability reviews, walkthroughs, and HAZOPs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Engineering diploma (N Dip) or equivalent (mechanical)
  • Minimum of five years mechanical design experience
  • Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPCM environment
  • Ability to design in a 3D model environment
  • Detailed design and modeling skills for the plant layout of mechanical equipment

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
