We are looking for a highly skilled Chief Data Infrastructure Architect to join RITS remotely and contribute to one of the exciting projects within a global, American market-leading trading platform.

RITS operates in a unique partnership model where we consider our consultants as valued clients. As an exclusive Polish vendor for this client, a stable company with over 25 years of experience, we provide services to help world-leading asset managers, central banks, hedge funds, and other institutional investors access liquidity through electronic marketplaces, facilitating trades worth approximately 30 trillion dollars per month.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and manage data infrastructure using public cloud platforms (AWS and GCP), Kafka, databases, and containers;
  • Collaborate with data engineers to provide platform infrastructure support;
  • Develop and operate Kafka messaging clusters;
  • Optimize application performance around the messaging platform;
  • Assist in building and managing K8s clusters and cloud environments;
  • Build and run ETL pipelines for data onboarding, define schema, build DAG processing pipelines, and monitor data quality;
  • Support the development of machine learning frameworks and pipelines;
  • Oversee mission-critical production services.

  • A salary range: 26,880 - 35,000 PLN on B2B +VAT without paid vacations depending on experience and technical testing;

  • Flexible working hours: starting from 12:00 or ideally 2 PM CET to overlap with the US team in the Eastern Time zone;

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Platform Engineering roles (System Engineer, DevOps Engineer, etc.)
  • Strong software engineering expertise and proficiency in Python
  • Experience working with SQL and databases/engines such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Redshift, Presto, etc.
  • Expertise in building ETL and stream processing pipelines using Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow/Prefect, etc.
  • Familiarity with data science tools: Juypter, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Dask, Pytorch, MLFlow, Kubeflow, etc.
  • Proficiency in AWS/GCP (S3/GCS, EC2/GCE, IAM, etc.), Kubernetes, and Linux in production environments
  • Strong inclination towards automation and DevOps practices
  • Ability to handle increasing data volume, velocity, and variety
  • Agile, self-starter focused on delivering results
  • Strong communication skills
  • Participation in on-call rotations outside regular business hours

  • Development skills in C++, Java, Go, Rust
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and distributed systems
  • Experience managing time series data
  • Familiarity with open-source communities
