The Functional Expert is the primary contact for System users for any issues related to processes and workflows in scope. The Functional Expert role includes providing operational support, sharing knowledge, training, issue resolution, CIP identification and escalation respective technical teams. In addition, the FE would partner with Commercial Technology and the Source to Contract Global Process Ownership team to shape, prioritize and ultimately deploy the enhancement journey for CLM. 

Our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool is a platform on ServiceNow that was designed, developed, and deployed by Mars to guide Commercial users through the contracting process from initiation to execution, while also providing embedded tips and an interface to directly engage with Legal and Finance.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Troubleshoot process and workflow related issues to ensure Procurement (Commercial) and other functions using the System can operate effectively.

  • Ensure proper quality of data relevant to Procurement scope.

  • Maintain connections with interfacing functional areas and Mars Digital Technology to ensure quickest possible resolution of issues and improvements delivery.

  • Support knowledge management of the process and workflows to ensure effective and efficient use of existing best practice.

  • Provide process and workflow training for Mars Global Service Commercial (Procurement) and Business Segments to drive optimum knowledge transfer and global standardization.

  • Recommend and manage the CIPs to optimize processes and workflows.

  • Support and organize major cross-functional System updates with testing to ensure best practice is constantly rolled out.

  • Partner with MCS, GPO and Mars DT Commercial to identify, asses and pilot new functionalities.

  • Benchmark with the external world to ensure processes and workflows remain world class.

  • Provide System roll out consultancy to new commercial areas to ensure optimum business take up.

  • Partner with Project Managers in projects with Procurement touch points.

  • Acting as approver for respective System roles relevant processes and workflows in scope.

  • Support in creation and assignment of new roles in the System.

What are we looking for?

  • University Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.

  • 3 + years of professional experience of Procurement operational and transactional roles.

  • Certification in Effective business Change/Business Process Management including process mapping, six sigma etc (is preferred).

  • Experience in deploying and improving processes and IT solutions.

  • Strong customer orientation and collaboration skills across multiple functions.

  • IT savvy with a keen interest in leveraging IT functionality to drive standardization/add business value.

  • Proven stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good understanding of Commercial (end-to-end) processes.

  • Fluent English.
