What youâll do


We are seeking a highly skilled Data & ETL Migration Engineer to join our new established team. In this role, you will lead and drive complex data and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) migration projects, utilizing your understanding of data management, ETL processes, and expertise in data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques.

Data Migration Leadership:

  • Lead and contribute to the development of data migration strategies and plans, leveraging your experience and expertise.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define requirements, priorities, and timelines for data migration projects.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members in data mapping, transformations, and ETL processes.

ETL Architecture and Development:

  • Design and develop scalable and efficient ETL solutions, utilizing industry-leading tools and technologies.

  • Implement complex ETL processes for accurate and timely data migration, ensuring adherence to best practices.

  • Utilize advanced SQL techniques and scripting languages to handle intricate data transformations and manipulations.

Data Quality Assurance:

  • Define and implement robust data quality assurance processes to maintain the integrity and accuracy of migrated data.

  • Lead efforts to identify and resolve data quality issues, collaborating with stakeholders on remediation strategies.

  • Champion data governance practices and standards throughout the migration process.

Performance Optimization and Scalability:

  • Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and efficiency, employing techniques such as query optimization and parallel processing.

  • Conduct performance tuning and monitoring activities, analyzing ETL execution plans to optimize resource utilization.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in data and ETL, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance migration capabilities.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, guiding them in solving complex data and ETL migration challenges.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data architects, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including data mapping specifications, ETL process flows, and performance optimization strategies.

  • Generate regular reports on data and ETL migration progress, communicating key milestones, risks, and issues to project stakeholders

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex data and ETL migration projects.

  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing ETL solutions using industry-leading tools and technologies (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS).

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and data integration patterns.

  • Strong expertise in data modelling principles, data profiling, data quality assurance, and data governance practices.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for automation and data manipulation tasks.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a track record of resolving complex data-related issues.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively mentor team members and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
