Program Summary

KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBRâs enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contractâs original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.

Job Summary

The Carpenter, reporting to and receiving assignments from the Foreman or General Foreman, is responsible for interpreting instructions, planning work activities, and executing construction and maintenance tasks. This role involves setting up work sites, preparing materials, and constructing various structures in support of site operations. The Carpenter ensures adherence to safety rules and procedures, maintaining tools and equipment, and contributing to overall cleanliness and housekeeping.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Receive assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman.
  • Read and interpret instructions and documentation to plan work activities effectively.
  • Move materials and equipment to designated work locations.
  • Set up work sites in preparation for construction and maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare materials required for carpentry work.
  • Build and erect a variety of structures supporting site construction and maintenance.
  • Complete records related to construction activities.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Perform various clean-up and housekeeping activities at work sites.
  • Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including using required personal safety equipment.
  • Perform additional duties and activities as directed.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting instructions and documentation.
  • Ability to move materials and equipment to work locations.
  • Experience in setting up work sites and preparing construction materials.
  • Knowledge of carpentry techniques and practices.
  • Compliance with safety rules and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Certification or training in carpentry.
  • Familiarity with diverse carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
