Position Overview
Reporting to the Global Head of TA, the EMEA Talent Acquisition Director delivers competitively superior talent that reflects our communities and consumers and fuels McCormick's people, performance and growth imperatives. This critical role within McCormick’s OneHR model, maintains primary responsibility for leading the regional talent acquisition department and associated activities for designated geographies, businesses and functional units. This includes assuming responsibility for the development of a robust talent pipeline to meet current and future business requirements, and leading, coaching and developing a team of talent acquisition professionals. Most importantly, this role builds McCormick’s people capabilities by identifying and eliminating barriers to recruitment, ensuring a best in class candidate experience and increasing strength in pivotal positions while building a more diverse workforce.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversight to all stages of the hiring process: defining requirements and developing hiring strategies, sourcing and engaging candidates, evaluating capabilities/fit (cultural and technical), assessments, job offers, and final processing/onboarding (e.g., background, physical, start date, etc.); Ensures compliance with applicable compliance and hiring laws.
  • Lead a team of direct reports in developing the sourcing and recruitment strategy within the function/site, improving processes and meeting business objectives. Develop capabilities in the team to improve service experience in the region and/or country groups. Execute regional talent acquisition activities to meet current and future business needs while ensuring a consistently first-class candidate experience.
  • Develops and manages the regional talent acquisition budget; Identifies the need for and manages contractor/vendor/technology support in alignment with approved budget allocations.
  • Organizes and manages executive recruiting, campus recruitment programs, college relations, internship programs, recruiting conferences/events and diversity hiring initiatives (including partnerships with McCormick Employee Ambassador Groups)
  • Monitors organizational performance against defined strategies, objectives, and measures/metrics; Drives continuous process improvement initiatives within the talent acquisition arena (e.g., candidate experience, quality of hire, efficiency, effectiveness, compliance, cost reduction, modern technology automation, etc.)
  • Lead key Talent Acquisition projects in line with industry best practice and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Degree in HR, Management, Psychology, Organization Development, Business Administration or related field required
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources that includes global experience/exposure.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing a full-cycle recruitment department to include building and delivering a recruitment/talent acquisition strategy.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing teams.
  • Experience working in a centralized recruitment environment or agency environment required.
  • Recruitment experience using direct sourcing, Internet, and diversity programs required. Knowledge of and adherence to employment laws, regulations, and statutory reporting requirements required.
  • Proficiency with recruitment technologies (including social media, candidate sourcing, and applicant tracking systems) and other office applications required.
  • Must understand acceptable/legal employment practices, statutory reporting requirements, and activities/programs required for compliance tracking and reporting.
  • Must understand general business processes, organizational structure, commonly used concepts, practices and procedures, etc.
  • Must have thorough understanding of McCormick business, culture, and strategies for growth.
  • Must have broad knowledge of global consumer products business landscape to compete effectively for talent and build the McCormick employment brand.
  • Must have understanding of campus relations and intern programs and practices.
  • Must have experience using technology in support of talent acquisition activities. Thorough and current knowledge of best and emerging recruiting practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, customers service, and teamwork skills.
  • C-suite presence and credibility.

  • Leadership style capable of managing individual performance and dealing effectively with performance issues.

  • Ability to partner with a variety of stakeholders to define common objectives and strategies to achieve.
  • Ability to lead recruitment strategies and implement change management at all levels.
  • Proven management and mentoring of recruitment activities and talent acquisition professionals.
