ABOUT THIS ROLE

 

As the Head of Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architectural vision and strategy for Wella. You will lead a team of architects responsible for designing scalable, resilient, and innovative solutions that support our business objectives and meet the needs of our global customer base. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align architectural decisions with business goals and ensure the successful execution of projects.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Architectural Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership in defining and implementing architectural standards, frameworks, and best practices across the organization.

Solution Design: Lead the design and development of scalable and efficient architectural solutions that address business requirements and support long-term growth and sustainability.

Technology Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and platforms to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the retail landscape.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, including IT, product management, operations, and business leadership, to understand their requirements and align architectural decisions with business objectives.

Team Management: Build and mentor a high-performing team of architects, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to ensure their success and growth.

Architecture Governance: Establish and enforce architectural governance processes to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and regulations.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate architectural risks, including security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges, to safeguard the integrity and reliability of our systems.

Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, partners, and consultants involved in architectural initiatives, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.

Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the architecture team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in all endeavors.

Communication: Effectively communicate architectural decisions, recommendations, and roadmaps to technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and alignment across the organization.

 

Requirements

  • Strong ERP experience, both implementing and optimizing an ERP solution. Microsoft Dynamics and SAP preferred.
  • Experience of Blueyonder and implementations across supply chain environments.
  • Digital mind set and proven experience in creating a Digital architecture to support revenue growth and a VIP customer experience.
  • Integration technology experience to support a highly integrated global business support multiple integrations across the globe.
  • Proven experience across cloud computing. Azure preferred.
  • Experience in delivering data warehouse and reporting solutions to enable a data driven organisation.
  • Infrastructure knowledge to support modern network technologies including SD-WAN, and Cyber security controls.
  • EUC support including O365, Windows desktop support and useability tools.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in a senior architectural role, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in a broad range of architectural domains, including but not limited to cloud computing, microservices architecture, API design, data architecture, and security.
  • Experience leading architecture initiatives in a global, multi-site environment, with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges inherent in scaling solutions across diverse geographic regions.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving architectural issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a passion for driving innovation and excellence in everything you do.
