Customs Specialist

As our new Customs Specialist you will be responsible for import and export transactions globally for Marel. You will play a key role in ensuring that the regulatory requirements and business processes associated with cross-border movements function smoothly, while also ensuring that issues and risks are identified and solved efficiently.

What you will be doing?

• Responsible for customs tariffs, classifications, and product origination for new products. Including communication with customs authorities, lawyers and other customs experts.
• Gather relevant information and prepare documentation for prospective deals with specific suggestions for contracts, drawings, etc.
• Keep informed and up to date on all Free Trade Agreements, changes in customs rules and other relevant legislation.
• Responsible for customs for all non-standard shipments Support Shipping Manager through various local projects
• Secure governance and support on global product classification, country of origin and preference origin of subassemblies and finished products.
• Supervise and monitor local customs broker compliance and performance

What Kind Of Person Are You?

To be successful in this versatile position, it helps if you have gained the following experience and expertise:

• Bachelor or Master degree in International trade
• Solid experience in Trade Compliance including product classification, country of origin determination and preference origin qualification within an international organisation.
• You have experience with SAP R3 and/or S4 ERP Platforms, including the Compliance Management and Customs Management components of SAP Global Trade Services (GTS)
• Experience around functional knowledge of EAR, ITAR and OFAC trade control regulations and strong functional knowledge of Regulation (EU) No 388/2012 and Regulation (EEC) No 2913/92
• You have strong analytical skills and can promote effective performance through communication, motivation, and project management.
• Fluent in English both verbal and in writing
