Senior Data Engineer at EcoVadis

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to be part of our expanding data platform unit at EcoVadis. Our team needs a skilled professional who can aid in the development and upkeep of data infrastructures and processing solutions crucial for our data scientists and internal data users. One of the core tasks involves building and managing self-serve data structures, guaranteeing data security, scalability, and availability. Another key duty is to establish and sustain pipelines for amalgamating internal and third-party data sources while upholding high standards of data integrity and quality. The engineer will operate in a lively and rapidly changing setting with ample collaboration across various teams.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, maintain, and oversee data platform elements.
  • Supervise data projects, coordinate efforts of involved data engineers.
  • Lead data modeling and data architecture endeavors.
  • Establish, supervise, and monitor pipelines for routine data processing while ensuring data dependability, quality, and efficiency.
  • Manage the data serving layer, administer permissions, and automate processes concerning the data catalog.
  • Forge connections with internal and external data sources.
  • Work collaboratively with data scientists, data engineers, devops, architects, developers, QA, and other teams. Partner to introduce new features and services into operation.
  • Develop and refine operational procedures and practices.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Databricks - creating notebooks, crafting integration code in Python/PySpark, working with delta tables (Delta Lakehouse),
  • Proficiency in managing projects, data initiatives, designing data architecture, and data modeling.
  • Mastery of SQL, database design/structures, ETL/ELT design patterns, and DataMart structures (star, snowflake schemas, etc.)
  • Experience with Azure storage solutions, specifically Azure Data Lake Storage, and handling Parquet files and partitions
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory (ADF) - setting up pipelines and activities in ADF for complete and incremental data loads into Azure Data Lake Store
  • Experience using Azure DevOps / Git
  • Azure Data Engineer certification (DP-203) or Databricks Data Engineer Associate / Professional would be a bonus
  • Fluent in English
