Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Threat Intelligence Management team within Splunk Enterprise Security. This team plays a crucial role in developing an analytics-driven SIEM platform that addresses various security analytics and operations needs including incident management and response. As a Backend Software Engineer for the Threat Intelligence Management Team, your responsibilities will involve designing, testing, and maintaining software that directly supports security analysts worldwide, meeting the evolving scalability, performance, and security standards. Customer interaction is highly valued here, providing you with insights to enhance product features and streamline analysts' workflows while adhering to our lean engineering process.

Responsibilities:

  • Deep dive into product architecture and real-world deployment scenarios to create customer-centric solutions
  • Engage in the software development lifecycle through coding, testing, and documentation, while prioritizing scalability and performance
  • Emphasize product quality by leveraging CI/CD, automated testing, and best development practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design seamless end-to-end user experiences
  • Develop expertise in Splunk's core technologies for application development

Experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with a technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Proficient in Java or Python
  • Hands-on experience in building web applications, services, and APIs, particularly in cloud environments
  • Understanding of both relational and non-relational databases
  • Familiarity with container ecosystems like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Agile DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Quick learner with strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to contribute to documentation and presentations
  • Background in Security product development is a bonus
