Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will serve as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project, responsible for designing the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant, as well as constructing the entire facility.

Job Summary:

The Office Field Engineer/Procedure Writer will report to the Project Field Engineer and/or Construction Manager, managing the creation, editing, and proofreading of construction documents essential for project delivery. Responsibilities include defining requirements, coordinating with Project Information Management Systems for construction automation tools, and gathering data on construction quantities, installation status, and quality inspection metrics.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Support constructability reviews during the design process as part of the home office construction team.
  • Aid in developing construction procedures, plans, methodology statements, risk management plans, and strategy documents.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure requirements are integrated into design, layout, and specifications.
  • Write, edit, and proofread various documents and media, ensuring logical structure and formatting.
  • Provide support in editorial tasks, including document formatting, graphics design, and content consistency.
  • Manage document production data for performance metrics and ensure electronic file organization.
  • Maintain document and resource files, including photos and office style guide.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Authorization to work in Poland is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Polish at a native level is required.
  • Ability to obtain an office or site security badge.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in standard document formatting/editing/production software.
  • Understanding of technical vocabularies and terminology used in Engineering and Construction.
  • Familiarity with editing/proofreading marks and skills in online editing/proofreading.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and commitment to safety practices.
  • Prior experience with editing program-level documents and reviewing project documents.
