About the job

Joining our commercial IT team is a great opportunity, as this area is currently experiencing significant growth and activity. As a Senior Data Engineer, your main responsibility will be to support the ongoing development and enhancement of our global Data Foundation presence on Microsoft Azure and other platforms.

The role involves:

  • Executing tasks within an agile team, including Daily Scrums
  • Providing technical expertise and assistance for system issues arising from projects
  • Offering consultancy and guidance on utilizing existing system features in our workflows
  • Ensuring adherence to development standards
  • Developing scalable solutions using the latest technologies
  • Acting as a sounding board for colleagues and the Architect when addressing complex challenges

Who are you?

You will collaborate with Data Foundation developers and scientists, frequently working with various teams within and outside of Commercial Train to create and implement solutions for rollouts, projects, and high complexity requirements.

To succeed, we expect you to have experience in:

  • Cloud-based services and technologies (Microsoft Azure, Databricks)
  • Writing SQL and working with both relational and NoSQL databases
  • Programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, or similar
  • Azure DevOps, git, and branching strategies
  • Data modeling techniques and pipeline technologies

Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Background in FMCG and Sales processes
