Our Finance department, the largest team within Shell Business Operations in Kraków, offers numerous opportunities for you to enhance your skills and expand your knowledge.

The main goal of this role is to provide assistance in managing the daily operations of Trading Settlements. As an Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with processes, and identifying areas for improvement in current procedures within the assigned sub-processes.

Shell Trading offers a wide range of products and services related to crude oil, refined products, natural gas, power, emissions, and chemicals trading, including shipping services. Presently, the Trading Settlements activities are divided into two main regions, North America (NA) and WONA (World outside NA).

The Trading Settlements processes are intricate, exposed to risks due to constantly evolving regulations, and often require timely actions. Collaboration with various teams (Traders, Operations, Tax, Financial Accounting, Process Excellence, etc.) across different Trading locations is essential.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Providing support in managing daily settlements activities
  • Ensuring prompt follow-up on receivables and timely cash realization within the defined scope
  • Adhering to documented Work Instructions and agreed Ways of Working without deviations, under the guidance of senior colleagues or managers
  • Supporting Audit requirements
  • Assisting managers and stakeholders in handling specific queries, verifying data, and gathering information
  • Following the defined escalation matrix for the process
  • Demonstrating professionalism, diplomacy, and efficiency in providing and acquiring information

Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in economics, accounting, finance, or relevant accounting courses
  • Prior experience in a related accounting environment
  • Solid proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with SAP accounting system is advantageous
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
