We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Amazon Alexa team in Poland.
We are developing the Alexa eXperience Data (AXD) Platform, a suite of services that offer data products supporting customer experience (CX) insights.
These insights aid the organization in comprehending factors influencing customer engagement and how Alexa features are utilized. We strive to innovate to enhance customer experience.
If you have an interest in constructing web applications, distributed backend systems, and databases with a focus on performance and scalability, if you enjoy working with extensive datasets to address business inquiries and stimulate growth — we are eager to speak with you.
- Define technical requirements, design, construct, and run software services and web applications backing data analytics workflows
- Manage projects undertaken by multiple engineers and deliver results through teamwork
- Establish technology strategy and take ownership of system design and architecture
- Promote good engineering practices and operational excellence within the team
- Aid in operational planning and create solutions to realize business value and fulfill customer requirements
Amazon Alexa is a venture of remarkable proportions and necessities, therefore our team possesses strong data engineering and software engineering proficiencies, adopts contemporary data engineering strategies (e.g., data mesh architecture), and emphasizes the use of scalable Amazon Web Services (AWS) in our solution development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Competency in at least one contemporary programming language (Java, C#, C/C++, Python, etc.)
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems
- Firm grasp of Computer Science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures)
The qualifications listed below are beneficial for this role but not mandatory. You will acquire this knowledge while working with us.
- Experience with AWS tools (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Cloud Development Kit)
- Proficiency in constructing distributed systems, microservices, serverless applications, RESTful APIs, and web applications
- Knowledge and practice in various stages of the full SDLC (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build systems, integration and deployment, maintenance, updates, etc.)
- Experience in leading projects managed by multiple engineers and delivering outcomes through teamwork
- Experience in defining technology strategy and taking ownership of system design and architecture
