Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

DescriptionAt EIS our DevOps team is cooperating with highly talented software development professionals. The team is responsible for the support and improvement of DevOps tools for the whole organization and microservices engineering practices. DevOps work at EIS can be very different, starting from implementing Jenkins pipelines using Groovy scripts, Terraform scripts, adjusting Maven, Scala and NPM build processes, extending Helm charts, and ending with researching the best approach to have stable and distilled DevOps practices applied to our product development lifecycle. Our DevOps team is managing 20+ different Cloud accounts for customers, which are mostly on AWS and Azure. Our microservice platform has around 100 pods running in non-scaled mode. Our typical CI/CD environment for engineering contains more than 250 VMs which require 2700+ vCPU, 6.5 TB of RAM. These numbers are even bigger on our managed public cloud accounts for our customers where we are supporting SaaS. It's lots of responsibility but also lots of fun to work with
We are looking for a smart, dynamic and intuitive people to join our growing team of insurance technology professionals and industry experts – this particular opportunity is for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring successful implementation of AWS/Azure Clouds services provisioning for development and production platforms
  • Collaborating with development teams during product implementation
  • Constantly challenging the existing practices to propose improvements
  • Cooperation with Cloud Architects and involvement in Infrastructure, Microservices, Tools design
  • Leading the Devops engineering team 5-10 people (Cloud and CICD engineers)

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Experience with AWS services (like VPC, S3, IAM, EC2, Route53, EBS, RDS, SG) OR with Azure services (like Azure AD, Azure DB, Virtual Machine, Azure Blob)
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Automation skills: e.g. Bash, Python, Ansible
  • Good Linux OS administration knowledge and experience
  • Good understanding of internet routing protocols and switched environments
  • An open mind and pro-active approach to any obstacles we may face
  • A willingness to learn and contribute to our DevOps team future
  • Good knowledge of Network administration, VPN/IPSEC
  • Kubernetes (or even AWS EKS, Azure AKS) system architecture knowledge and experience in building and maintaining Kubernetes-based configurations using Helm package manager
  • Grafana, ELK
Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with other public clouds
  • DevSecOps experience
  • Some history of IT community work - conferences, meetups etc.
  • Mentoring or team leading experience
  • Extensive experience with Docker
  • Mentorship and Team leading experience
