As a Global Category Manager, your main objective is to oversee the strategic procurement activities within specific global product or service categories. The aim is to develop and implement category strategies that align with the organization's overall goals, enhance supplier relationships, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure product or service quality. Close collaboration with stakeholders is key to successfully completing sourcing projects following KM's sourcing process.
Crafting a sustainable supply chain to Protecht People and Planet in every sourcing decision.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Management: Identify critical product or service categories for the business and create comprehensive strategies across Kongsberg Group. Analyze global market trends, risks, and opportunities to drive strategic sourcing decisions. Implement and update category plans, including goals, timelines, and necessary resources. Execute sourcing projects aligning with BMS requirements.SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Discover potential global suppliers, evaluate their qualifications, and negotiate contract terms. Establish and maintain strong collaborative bonds with suppliers to ensure access to high-quality products. Actively promote sustainability within the supply chain.COST ANALYSIS AND SAVINGS: Conduct detailed cost analysis, explore alternative sourcing options for cost-saving prospects. Implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor their efficacy.PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Lead complex global procurement projects, coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensure projects meet timelines and budgets. Offer guidance and leadership to the sourcing team, foster a culture of continuous improvement.RISK MANAGEMENT: Identify and mitigate risks related to global category procurement, establish contingency plans for business continuity.Qualifications and Experience:
Hold a Master's degree in business, supply chain management, or related fields (advanced degrees are beneficial).Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement, category management, and global supplier relations.Minimum of [8] years in strategic sourcing or procurement roles.Strong analytical skills for data interpretation, effective communication, and negotiation across diverse cultures.Proven project management skills and successful project execution track record.Familiarity with procurement systems, modern digital tools, and application of AI tools in procurement.Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Fluency in English (both spoken and written).What's on Offer:
