As the chosen candidate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Comprehend the owner/user needs and project mission.
  • Aid in interpreting plant PFDs, P&IDs, and plant battery limits and constraints.
  • Handle contract drawings, record keeping, and other statistical tasks.
  • Create and manage 3D equipment modeling and 3D design.
  • Execute conceptual layout tasks.
  • Review drawings before finalizing.
  • Develop design specifics.
  • Carry out the design and drafting of mechanical plant models following relevant standards and technical specifications.
  • Implement designs in line with project-specific criteria, regulations, and standards.
  • Apply design criteria consistently throughout the design process.
  • Utilize vendor data and information to create and validate the model.
  • Establish and maintain check sheets for all equipment and update the model accordingly.
  • Ensure coordination with designers and engineers from other disciplines.
  • Conduct clash detection of models with models from other disciplines.
  • Provide material quantity take-offs for estimates or contracts.
  • Generate 2D drawings from the 3D model as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to develop design concepts for review.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and documentation for approved projects.
  • Participate in engineering review processes.
  • Conduct operability and maintainability reviews, walk-throughs, and HAZOPs.
  • Perform constructability reviews and HAZOPs.
  • Use models as a basis for HAZOPs in the aforementioned reviews.

Your qualifications for the role:

  • Engineering diploma (N Dip) or equivalent (mechanical).
  • Experience in large project, multidisciplinary EPCM environments.
  • Proficiency in designing in a 3D model environment.
  • Detailed design and modeling skills for mechanical equipment layout.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to the project's design and systems.
  • Understanding of requirements from other disciplines.
  • Proficient in MicroStation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Ability to operate in a structured corporate setting.
  • English language proficiency.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Registration as a professional with local engineering authorities.
  • Experience in using procedures and workflows for project execution.
