Job Description

Our Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) team is seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our expanding analytics engineering team. We operate as a globally distributed remote-first team. You will have the opportunity to collaborate in an Agile environment, utilizing the latest engineering practices across the software development lifecycle. Your primary focus will be on developing Data Warehouse Solutions in BigQuery/Snowflake using tools like dbt, Airflow, and Terraform.

What you'll be doing daily:
  • Collaborating with team members and business partners to gather business requirements, define successful analytics outcomes, and design data models
  • Implementing and mentoring on top engineering practices including version control system, CI/CD, code review, and pair programming
  • Creating, enhancing, and managing ELT pipelines in the Enterprise Data Warehouse for dependable business reporting
  • Developing ELT-based data models using SQL & dbt
  • Constructing analytics solutions that offer valuable insights across various business domains like customer 360, finance, product, and sales
  • Identifying opportunities for process enhancements, streamlining manual tasks, and optimizing data delivery processes
  • Collaborating with data and analytics specialists to enhance the functionality of our data systems
Your qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in data/analytics engineering, focusing on building, operating, and maintaining data pipelines & ETL processes in big data environments
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, designing, and implementing Data Warehouse solutions
  • Proficient in modern and traditional Data Modeling techniques - Kimball, Innmon, etc.
  • Intermediate proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or Scala (Python is preferred)
  • Advanced SQL skills, experience with Cloud columnar databases (Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake), and query writing expertise
  • Integration experience with third-party API SaaS applications like Salesforce, Zuora, etc.
  • Familiarity with data transformation processes, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management
  • Experience in conducting root cause analysis on internal and external data to address business queries and identify improvement opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with BigQuery or similar cloud warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift)
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more business domains
  • Completed 3 or more projects using dbt
  • Expertise in Python
