Scientist I/II - Biologia - Translation BiologyRyvu Therapeutics is a clinical-stage drug discovery and development company focused on novel small molecule therapies that address emerging targets in oncology.
We are looking for team-oriented, independent biologist/ biotechnologist with strong background in mammalian cell culture and solid technical expertise (e.g. RNAi/CRISPR, flow cytometry, WB, qPCR) to strengthen our discovery development process. This position combines laboratory and conceptual work with full responsibility for the task assigned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Laboratory-based position with 70% laboratory work and 30% of data analysis and conceptual work
- Establishing primary cell cultures
- Performing complex and technically challenging experiments (target identification using whole-genome CRISPR screenings, target validation studies and secondary functional pharmacology assays)
- Analyzing biological results and drawing conclusions, reporting in the format of Electronic Lab Notebooks
- Implementation of new research methods and protocols as part of current needs
- Proactively seeking out new information in the literature and incorporate this into individual projects as well as the overall program
- Independent work on the dedicated sub-projects
- Presenting research results and methodologies at weekly meetings with immediate supervisor and project leader, project team meetings and other research forums
- MSc degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and 2+ years of experience in academia or industry or PhD degree
- Previous experience in the fields of cancer biology
- Experience in cell-based assay development in 2D and 3D models
- Technical expertise with mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques like ELISA, Western Blot, qPCR, flow cytometry as well as cytotoxicity, proliferation assays and assessing drug synergism
- Experience in working with cell-based assays in microplate format - medium throughput
- Practical experience with analysis software such as GraphPad Prism, Excel, FlowJo is strongly preferred
- Previous experience with primary cell cultures and in vitro activity determination of biological drugs, RNAi and/or CRISPR mediated knock-down techniques is a plus
- Analytical thinking approach, literature search skills, ability to work independently on a certain topic
- Willingness to learn and adopt new experimental techniques
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
