This position can be located in Gdansk, Warsaw, or Krakow
We are searching for a Software Development Engineer to become part of the Amazon Alexa team in Poland.

We are constructing the Alexa eXperience Data (AXD) Platform, a collection of services that deliver data products supporting customer experience (CX) insights.

These insights aid in comprehending the factors driving customer engagement and the utilization of Alexa features. We constantly innovate to enhance customer experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, construct, and manage software services and web applications that facilitate data analytics workflows
  • Actively participate in projects alongside multiple engineers
  • Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues
  • Promote strong engineering practices and operational excellence within the team
  • Propose solutions to achieve business value and fulfill customer requirements
  • Simplify problem domains and propose straightforward designs
About the team

Amazon Alexa is a project of exceptional magnitude and demands, requiring our team to possess robust data engineering and software engineering skills. We employ modern data engineering techniques and heavily leverage scalable Amazon Web Services (AWS) in our solution development.

We are open to considering candidates for roles in the following locations:

Gdansk, POL

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficiency in a modern programming language (Java, C#, C/C++, Python, etc.)
  • Basic familiarity with Linux/Unix systems
  • Sound understanding of computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures)
DESIRED SKILLS
The qualifications mentioned below would be beneficial in this role but are not mandatory. You will acquire this expertise by working with us.

  • Experience with AWS services (e.g. Lambda, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Cloud Development Kit)
  • Proficiency in constructing distributed systems, microservices, serverless applications, RESTful APIs, and web applications
  • Knowledge and experience in various stages of the full SDLC process (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build systems, integration and deployment, maintenance, updates, etc.)
  • Track record of delivering software features and enhancements to significant sections of production software
