We are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to join our Product Security team. In this role, you will focus on automating and enhancing our tooling, streamlining the process for Zendesk's software engineers to create secure products.
What You'll Do as a Senior Product Security Engineer
- Implement and deploy security tools as necessary.
- Automate and integrate security tools into CI/CD pipelines on a large scale.
- Utilize your software engineering expertise to ensure that our tools prioritize both security and efficiency.
- Secure internal applications and infrastructure.
- Conduct threat modeling and review software designs in collaboration with Zendesk Engineering.
- Assist engineers in comprehending their security status by providing actionable insights on risks and vulnerabilities.
- Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and flexible team environment.
What You Bring to the Role
- Prior background in backend or full-stack application engineering.
- Demonstrated knowledge of web application development and proficiency in at least one server-side language, preferably Ruby.
- Ability to effectively communicate security concepts and actively engage in discussions.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Experience with agile development methodologies, operating in a dynamic setting with continuous integration and deployment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a drive for continuous learning.
Nice to Haves
- Any experience with application or infrastructure security is a bonus.
- Background in managing and securing extensive Amazon Web Service deployments.
- Experience in maintaining tools for use by other engineering teams.
