Responsibilities
  • Performing all facets of database administration, from installs to backups, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Coordinating DBA tasks with the infrastructure team to meet customer requirements promptly.
  • Establishing database strategies, standards, and protocols to safeguard company data.
  • Creating and managing SQL and Linux programs to monitor database activities.
  • Playing a crucial role in researching and implementing new technologies for upcoming projects.
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handling ASM storage on Exadata and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Following Sarbox compliance controls and planning upgrades to align with the company's goals.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in database management.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Expertise in Oracle database administration and familiarity with other platforms like SQL Server, SAP Hana, db2, etc.
  • Experience working with databases on-premises and in AWS cloud, particularly with AWS RDS databases.
  • Proficiency in automating processes using Unix shell scripting and Windows BAT.
  • Experience in standardizing database installations and configurations through processes and procedures.
  • Ability to tackle complex technical issues innovatively and handle multiple projects efficiently.
  • Familiarity with high availability setups like RAC and Oracle Data Guard.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and quick learner with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to provide 24/7 support.
