Senior BI & Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior BI & Data Engineer to be part of our data team at our company. Your role will be instrumental in developing our in-house game data platform and setting up our analytics standards. Your main goal is to activate and streamline data usage for various teams. Collaborate with our analytics and user experience teams to enhance our data culture and research capabilities, ensuring that data-driven insights inform our daily business decisions and help create memorable experiences for our players.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines using GCP services such as Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, and Pub/Sub.
  • Develop and implement data models supporting analytics and reporting needs using BigQuery. Automate data workflows and orchestration.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency through best practices in data governance and monitoring. Optimize data processes for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with analysts to share technical expertise and help them adapt new tools and standards to streamline data consumption.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions meeting business needs.
  • Iterate on telemetry design with analysts and software engineers.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and ETL processes in the gaming and/or entertainment industry.
  • Extensive expertise in Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL and Python for data processing and transformation.
  • Experience in data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing, including preparing datasets for BI/reporting tools.
  • Proficient in implementing CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and job orchestration.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken.

Other relevant qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Looker BI.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data security principles.
  • Understanding of machine learning workflows and experience with GCP's AI and ML services.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced multicultural setting managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for leveraging data for business insights and decisions.
