These teams will be shaping the future of retail by building and evolving Castorama’s mobile app, e-commerce platform, and the back-office systems that power store operations across Poland. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Software Engineer with strong expertise in Android development (Kotlin) and a solid understanding of Kotlin Multiplatform to join our Software Engineering team and contribute to our new Android KMP programme.If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and make a real impact by building better software, this is the job for you ResponsibilitiesContribute to the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality, scalable Android applications.Work with the team to shape and improve our new Android codebase, following best practices in architecture, performance, and maintainability.Assist in designing and implementing Kotlin Multiplatform components shared across Android and iOS applications.Build modular and reusable user interfaces using Jetpack Compose.Ensure code quality through effective unit and integration testing.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, iOS and Android engineers, to deliver seamless user experiences.Manage platform dependencies and third-party integrations to ensure smooth interoperability across systems.Participate in code reviews using GitLab, providing constructive feedback and supporting knowledge sharing within the team.Stay up to date with evolving Android technologies, frameworks, and development practices.What you'll bringSolid commercial experience developing and delivering Android applications.Proficiency in Kotlin and understanding of object-oriented and functional programming principles.Experience with modern architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture.Ability to design and integrate RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.Awareness of mobile app security best practices and ability to apply them in development work.Hands-on experience with, or interest in, Kotlin Multiplatform and cross-platform development.Practical experience using Jetpack Compose to build clean and maintainable UIs.Basic familiarity with iOS development concepts and willingness to collaborate on cross-platform features.A proactive approach, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for working in a collaborative engineering environment.Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
