About the project

The Data Foundation team is a cornerstone for enabling data success at Nykredit. It drives engineering initiatives across Banking, Property Finance, and Group Functions, impacting hundreds of data solutions and leading the migration to a modern cloud-based data platform on Azure.

The Data Engineer role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies like Azure and Databricks, contributing to a large-scale transformation program. You will join a collaborative team of 11 Data Engineers in Warsaw, working closely with Data Analysts in Denmark and other data teams across the organization.

Your direct manager will be Jacek Jankowski.

Your responsibilities

• Design, development and deployment of scalable data transformation pipelines and workflows.
• Collaboration with Data Analysts to translate business needs into technical solutions (in international teams).
• Ensure high data quality delivery through testing, monitoring and optimization of the ETL processes.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Proactively identify areas for improvement in data solutions and contribute to their optimization.
• Other tasks connected with delivering reliable and innovative data solutions.

Our requirements

• 2+ years of hands on experience in designing, building and managing large-scale data systems as a Data Engineer or ETL Developer.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python/PySpark for data transformation and data analysis
• Strong experience within the Microsoft Azure environment (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks).
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Engineering concepts, such as data integration, ETL/ELT processes, Star Schema/Snowflake, Kimball modeling
• Ability to take ownership of data pipelines and ETL workflows in production systems
• Strong eagerness to learn rapidly and apply new knowledge effectively.
• A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Both Data Engineering and Software Engineering experience

Optional

• Familiarity with Informatica Cloud or Informatica PowerCenter.
• Experience with data lakehouse architecture and modern data platforms.
• Knowledge of PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and GitHub for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark or Hadoop
