Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable SAP Expert with extensive experience in managing and optimizing SAP systems and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring, troubleshooting, and database management. Key qualifications include proficiency in SAP support packages, kernel updates, and disaster recovery solutions.

Responsibilities:

A variety of tasks must be performed in order to operate the system landscapes. These tasks are outlined in the following. All tasks are divided into the groups “Databases” and “SAP systems”.

Database operation area:

Vendor will perform the following services within the scope of SAP system operation:

• MonitoringMonitoring the databases using a variety of mechanisms, including internal SAP system monitoring jobs, central monitoring via the SAP Solution Manager and Patrol by BMC. Among other things, the monitoring service comprises database error logs, statistics runs and the fill level of the tablespaces or file systems.

• TroubleshootingAnalysis and remedial action for problems with the database software. Installation of database patches and fix packs required for operation. Analysis of general database errors that can occur during the course of daily operations. Extrapolation of optimization measures in order to avoid error situations in the future.

• OptimizationPlanning, analysis, adjustments to database parameters. Database reorganizations (reorgs) for selected tables and indexes. See the appendix for information on the number of reorgs included in the scope of services. Additional reorgs can be performed on request. These services will be invoiced separately.

• Database space managementDisk space planning and requests. Required expansions to file systems and tablespaces.Additional charges will be billed separately according to the GDIS price list for storage space that exceeds the limits included in the package price.

• Database maintenanceOrganizational measures such as performing changes to maintenance windows and subsequent implementation of planned activities.

• Database backupsPreparation of the database backup concept.Performing and monitoring online database backups.Making additional backups if requested by GOSP, e.g. before or after major system changes.

• Database restorePerformed at the request of an authorized GOSP contact. Restores performed as part of projects are not included in the scope of services and will be invoiced separately.

• Backup managementRegular SAP system backups are stored.

SAP System Operations area:

Vendor will perform the following services within the scope of SAP system operation:

• MonitoringMonitoring the SAP systems and interfaces using a variety of mechanisms, including internal SAP system monitoring jobs, central monitoring via the SAP Solution Manager and Patrol by BMC. Monitoring includes availability (of SAP systems, the ICM and portal web pages) hardware utilization, file system fill levels, short dumps, error logs and job terminations, among other things.

• TroubleshootingAnalysis and remedial action for SAP system problems that are identified during the monitoring process, for instance.

• OptimizationEvaluation of early watch alerts/going live checks and implementation of SAP-recommended parameter changes.

• Installation of support packagesInstallation of SAP support packages at the request of GOPS. These services will be invoiced separately.Legal changes (HR-CEE packages) for HR systems are excluded from these services.

• SAP kernel updatesUpdating the SAP kernel at the request of GOPS. These services will be invoiced separately.

• New releasesDelivering new releases at the request of GOPS. New releases are not included in the general scope of services. These services will be invoiced separately.

• Unicode conversionsPerforming unicode conversions at the request of GOPS. Unicode conversions are not included in the general scope of services and will be invoiced separately.

• System copiesSystem copies for the entire SAP environment, e.g. quarterly copies of production systems to the corresponding quality assurance systems. Additional scheduled services can be performed on request. These services will be invoiced separately.

• Client copiesClient copies or exports and imports for the entire SAP environment. See the appendix for information on the number of client copies included in the scope of services. Additional copies can be made on request. These services will be invoiced separately.

• Disaster recovery (DR)The GDIS UNIX SD group is responsible for operating disaster recovery solutions (vMotion and/or HACMP). Dept. a is responsible for supporting activities and performing a technical inspection on the systems when VMs and/or SAP systems are migrated to cluster partners. See Table 2 “Service Overview” in the appendix for information on which systems are DR capable.

• Scheduled technical interruptionsSAP system availability is limited during maintenance windows. The service level agreements define the maintenance window periods. Additional maintenance windows can also be arranged with sufficient advance notice.

• Transport Management SystemEnsuring regular transport delivery of test and production systems.Prompt performance of urgent special transports.Further connections to additional systems are available on request. They will be billed separately.

• System settingsManagement of system-related table, profile and configuration settings that must be compared with the operating system environment (e.g. operation categories).

• Job managementScheduling, error analysis and recovery (troubleshooting) of SAP system jobs.

• Internet Transaction Server (ITS) operationAdministration, monitoring and troubleshooting for the active Internet Transaction Server.

• Output managementSAP VPS interface operation and problem management, e.g. for problems with spool work processes in SAP. VPS output management system optimization, e.g. performing spool reorgs in SAP.

• Production data archivingOperation of the SAP interface for archiving the SAP systems and objects outlined in the appendix. Interface problem troubleshooting.GOPS may submit a request to expand archive use. This will be invoiced separately.

• Operation of the two-layer SAP Business Connector architecture including reverse invoke connectors in the DMZOperation of business connectors, e.g. transport of developments, allocating and deallocating tasks and setting up new suppliers.

• Transfers of operations and implementation in the scope of projects and project consultationsThe transfer process describes the cooperation procedure between GOPS and GDIS operations in the system development process. Being informed of projects and measures in advance, is already able to play an important role here (definition of operating requirements, adjusting capacities, etc.), thereby enhancing the quality of operations.Implementation and integration of objects in the operating environmentThe roles transfer coordinator, transfer specialist and implementer will be filled by GOPS operations.

• TDMS (Test Data Migration Server)Installation of TDMS support packages and technical support for administration of the TDMS systems in the appendix

SAP-ETD:

· System Configuration & Database Management: Setting up and configuring SAP ETD along with the underlying SAP HANA database, Kafka and Logcollectors.

· Sizing & Performance Optimization: Ensuring appropriate system sizing and conducting performance tuning to handle high log volumes and real-time event processing.

· Patch & Upgrade Management: Applying patches, upgrades, and security fixes to SAP ETD, HANA, and connected components to maintain stability and security.

· System Integration: Onboarding and integrating new SAP systems (ABAP, Java), Web Dispatchers and SAP Routers into ETD for log collection and monitoring.

· Certificate & Trust Management: Managing digital certificates, SSL/TLS trust stores, and secure communications between connected systems.
