The job tasks will be related to CI/CD tooling maintenance and CI/CD pipelines development, development of shared services components, contribution toward GCP services deployment patterns, automating tasks related to ensuring resilience and compliance of IT services maintained in the department, and contribution toward maturing SRE practice.What you’ll doDefine, implement, and oversee team development processes in line with the wider DevOps Engineering team and HSBC procedures.Ensure changes delivered by the team are compliant with HSBC Controls.Ensure the team is compliant with HSBC policies both for personnel and services/applications managed by the team. Tutor the team on upcoming changes in the deployment processes, development ways of working, available tooling and internal controls in use at the bank.Ensure tasks and sprint planning are accurate and achievable.Act as a Technical SME for Cybersecurity issues related to data products development. Maintain application environment and infrastructure in GCP.What you need to have to succeed in this roleInfrastructure maintenance experience. You should demonstrate ability to work with processes automation, software versioning, infrastructure as a code, configuration as a code, virtualization, code quality ensuring and scanning, centralized logging and monitoring (you will be working with GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Nexus, CheckMarx, SonarQube, in-house deployment solutions and might be working with - for example - Splunk, Prometheus, Application Dynamics, VMWare, Hashicorp Vault).Understanding of various concepts of CI/CD, SRE and Service Management. You need to demonstrate experience with maintaining scalable and highly resilient services (e.g. multisite resilience, load balancing, automated failover & backup), setting up observability for different layers of application stack, understand concepts of change management, incident management, SLA maintenance. Modern computing knowledge. You will support products build upon virtualized environments, containerized environment (you need to demonstrate good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes) and cloud serverless compute services.Cloud environment knowledge. You should understand cloud architecture (preferably: GCP), including aspects related to networking, security, cost management.Understanding of data-oriented IT platforms and solutions. You will be working with applications build within data environments (experience with Cloudera Data Platform or other Hadoop distributions is highly preferred) and cloud data services (GCP: BigQuery, Dataproc, Composer, Vertex AI, and others). Preferably you have experience with solutions utilising ML or Generative AI.Communication skills and problem solving. You will be collaborating with various technical and business teams.
