About our Team
At SAIC Warsaw, we believe in expanding human potential with AI. And we want to do this by developing AI that you can carry in your pocket and always trust and control. Along the way, we will push the boundaries of knowledge, starting with you and your expectations and inventing the technology needed.
We will look for new mathematics and technology that can lead to efficient AI self-control mechanisms and enhance the cognitive processes behind world model building.
We will focus on the dynamics of reasoning, knowledge creation, and knowledge completion. Big data is low rank, so let's find better ways to understand datasets, compress them, and identify their meaningful parts to make them secure and ready for fast and continual learning.
We will focus on safety and alignment. We need to enrich explainability, interpretability, and user privacy protection. So, let's reinvent how we develop AI. Let's think about rigorous (run-time) model response evaluation and adaptive model self-tuning by design.
We will develop the building blocks for on-device technology that improves planning, creation, and understanding. For that, we need to focus on context awareness and coherent reasoning.
And we will always be looking forward to new scientific adventures.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge scientific research in artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Conceptualize and develop innovative technologies that push the boundaries of AI
- Author and publish high-impact research papers in top-tier scientific journals and present findings at prestigious international conferences
- Lead and participate in collaborative projects with engineers, domain specialists, and fellow scientists in international research teams to translate theoretical breakthroughs into practical applications
- Actively monitor and contribute to the latest developments and trends in AI research, integrating state-of-the-art advancements into research practices
- Mentor junior researchers or contribute to the intellectual growth of the research team
Skills and Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Control Engineering, Physics, or Cognitive Science (Master's degree with exceptional research experience)
- Demonstrated expertise in technical programming, with proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and computational science
- Profound understanding of AI mathematics
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), multimodal foundation models, and state-of-the-art generative AI techniques
- Excellent scientific writing skills, with a track record of publications in reputable venues
- Outstanding communication abilities and proven capacity to collaborate effectively in diverse, interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated experience in exploratory, "blue sky" research projects that challenge conventional paradigms
- Familiarity with technology development processes and design thinking methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Publication record in top-tier AI conferences or journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ACL, EMNLP)
- Extensive experience in training and optimizing large-scale AI models
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
o Numerical Linear Algebra
o Numerical Optimization Techniques
o Reinforcement Learning
o Spatio-temporal Grounding
o Adaptive and Stochastic Control Theory
o Signal Processing
o Explainable AI (XAI
o Dynamical Systems
o Cryptography and AI Security
- Experience with grant and patent writing
- Experience in organizing workshops, seminars, or conference tracks
