Lead DevOps Engineer FinOps

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer specializing in FinOps to champion financial transparency, accountability, and cost optimization across hybrid IT environments.

This role works closely with teams across finance, engineering, procurement, and operations to ensure optimal technology investments are aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Equip, guide, and train stakeholders on cost management practices as part of a Community of Practice

• Ensure the functionality of cost management tools, including access control, accurate cost mapping, and alignment, and collaborate with vendors on feature requests

• Identify, analyze, and report cost opportunities and risks across cloud and on-prem environments, working with stakeholders to address them

• Engage and collaborate with internal teams and external cloud providers to align on cost strategies

• Track KPIs to drive accountability and optimize costs in hybrid IT environments

• Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities in collaboration with teams

• Manage cloud financial commitments (reservations) in coordination with FinOps teams and stakeholders

• Stay updated on industry trends, pricing models, and best practices in cloud and traditional IT environments

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and chargeback/showback processes

• Build compelling business cases for migrating workloads from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a FinOps-related role within an international IT organization

• Knowledge of Cloud principles and multiple cost visualization tools

• Familiarity with showback and chargeback principles and financial structures within multinationals

• Experience in change management within large organizations

• Capability to translate financial structures and allocate costs within IT contexts

• FinOps Practitioner certification or willingness to obtain it in the short term

• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication, presentation, and expectation management capabilities

• Ability to foster cost awareness across non-finance teams or business owners

• Attention to detail coupled with a forward-thinking and solution-oriented approach

• Self-motivation with a can-do attitude and the ability to deliver quality results with limited supervision

• Advanced proficiency in English (B2+)
