Role description:The Senior QA Automation Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software by driving the development and execution of robust automated testing strategies. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Solution Architects, Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps, to design, implement, and maintain scalable testing frameworks. The Senior QA Automation Engineer advocates for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) approaches while leveraging advanced testing tools and techniques to maximize automation coverage within CI/CD pipelines. With a focus on continuous improvement, this role combines technical expertise, analytical problem-solving, and proactive collaboration to enhance software quality and team efficiency.Key Accountabilities:Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Developers, DevOps and other QA Automation Engineers to contribute to both the testing of new product features, and the improvement of testing of existing/legacy features, using technologies and tools including Testing Tools:Reqnroll/SpecflowPostmanPlaywrightSwaggerSeleniumAnalyse business requirements, internal designs and non-functional requirements and estimate user stories collaboratively with the teamAdvocating and continuing to maintain an automated Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) approach with all software solutionsWrite and execute robust test scripts, attaining a high percentage of test automation and regression within CI/CD pipelinesManual exploratory testing and maintenance of a clear manual test plan for any test scenarios that can't be automatedReview logs and databases as part of the testing process, and automate this where possibleFollowing industry best practices and ensure other members of the team do likewiseRequired skills and Experience:Professional level (6+ years’ experience) as an Automation QA within a modern software development environmentExperience with C# .NetStrong experience with REST APIs and API testing strategiesBDD experience with high focus on test automation vs manual testingStrong understanding of a balanced Test Pyramid with separation of unit, integration, and end-to-end testsAble to describe differences and identify candidates for Unit, Integration & E2E testsExperience improving, refactoring, and rewriting testsExperience ensuring that tests run within CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Specflow/ReqnrollUnderstanding of SQLExperience with agile methodologiesDesired skills & experience:Previous experience in the payments industry or with PCI DSS compliance is advantageousFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and containerisation tools like Docker and localstackExperience with performance and non-functional testingKnowledge of testing highly available, scalable, and business-critical systemsRequired behaviors and attributes:Excellent knowledge of software testing methodologies and techniquesGood team collaboration and communication skillsAttention to detailCalm under pressureWe offer: Co-financing of sport activities (Multisport)Additional private medical carePizza TuesdayRelaxation zone –football tableIntegration meetingsNo dress codeand much more
