As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our ChromeOS Engineering Productivity Technical Program Manager team is dedicated to creating a development and delivery environment for ChromeOS that empowers engineers to innovate rapidly while maintaining the highest quality standards. We focus on building processes, tools, and infrastructure that streamline development workflows, enhance testing and reliability, and optimize the overall ChromeOS release process.


As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic direction of our efforts to deliver an exceptional engineering and release environment for ChromeOS.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage cross-functional programs from inception to completion. Drive alignment, coordinate dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of high-impact projects. Define project scope, goals, timelines, and key milestones. Manage resources effectively, anticipate and mitigate risks, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize development and release processes. Design, implement, and drive adoption of best practices and tools to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Establish key performance indicators and metrics, collect and analyze data, and use insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Engineering teams, product management, and other functions. Communicate effectively, influence decisions, and manage expectations.
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the team and across ChromeOS engineering, promoting knowledge sharing and teamwork. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in engineering productivity and software release process.


Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Candidates will typically have 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience working with data analytics.


Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional projects and delivering results.
  • Experience with ChromeOS engineering or a related operating system development.
  • Experience delivering seamless engineering, and passion for process optimization and quality assurance.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and release management practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and people management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build consensus.
