AVP –Global Mobility and Immigration Compliance consultant

This position will be involved with the day-to-day operations and management of State Street international & immigration compliance matters. As a member of the Global Mobility team, this role will focus on facilitating global mobility and immigration services in partnership with our stakeholders and our vendors. This role will support company-wide global mobility initiatives. This role requires ability to work in a virtual work environment and dealing with the team members and stakeholders located globally.

The successful candidate will support management by making certain that international immigration program is in compliance with all of the relevant regulatory requirements (such as payroll, individual and corporate taxes, talent acquisition, immigration, etc.). He or she will work closely with internal colleagues and provide administrative support and policy/process guidance as it relates to global mobility.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and perform day-to-day functions in support of relocation, Global Mobility compliance administration and Immigration program worldwide (except for North America)
  • Oversee Right to Work Check compliance and overall immigration program compliance to ensure all the relevant stakeholders adhere to and follow the global immigration policy for international locations
  • Coordinates with HR, Talent Acquisition, assignees and business area managers to ensure proper documentation, visas, work permits, etc. are in place as well as relocation logistics for assignments and transfers.
  • Manages client expectations and delivery of Global Mobility matters
  • Works with other Global Mobility and Payroll team members around the world to identify issues and risk areas, and to provide creative solutions, and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Supports administrative and project work in other areas of the department, as needed, including maintaining files in accordance with audit standards
  • Performs work independently within scope of established guidelines and practices. Consults with manager where clarification or exception to corporate policy may be required.
  • Acts as contact to regional HR professionals, Business management, and employees on mobility issues and procedures (specifically for international immigration);
  • Coordinates with the Company's global relocation and immigration vendors to ensure seamless delivery of services as well as reporting and invoice review.
  • Vendor management of the Company's immigration vendor and working closely the vendor's client services team to deliver immigration projects and initiatives.
  • Review of invoices and financial related to international immigration program and related coordination with internal finance teams.
  • Act as an escalation point of contact for the vendor as well as for the internal stakeholders in matters related to immigration compliance. Coordinate with stakeholders from HR, business and with vendor to resolve the issues.
  • Prepares employee relocation contracts for management review; and
  • Provides on-going administrative support to Global Mobility manager based on the requirement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 -10 years' experience in Global Mobility immigration compliance programs or relevant Company experience.
  • Knowledge of relocation policy processing; immigration program management
  • Knowledge of business immigration requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, team player
  • Capabilities to assist in all areas related to the relocation/tax compliance/immigration process for international assignments will be an added advantage.
