About this opportunity
Group Internal Audit (GIA) is an independent function, supporting the Nordea Group Board and Group Executive Management in protecting the assets, reputation and sustainability of the largest bank in the Nordics.
Your main role in the audit team will be to support audits of Nordea's product and processes, and contribute to the delivery of GIA's project portfolio. You will also have a chance to understand how the stable, international bank operates across the whole value chain. Moreover, you will learn how to apply data analytics, programming skills and new technologies like artificial intelligence, automation to work efficiently and effectively.
You can join one of the following teams within GIA:
- GIA Group Data Management – where you will learn about Nordea's data landscape and assess end-to-end management of data used in Nordea's risk management and reporting, as well as how personal data is managed across the bank,
- GIA: GBS Operations incl. PL/EE – where you will analyse the processing of payments, loans, trade finance, financial market and custody products and many more offered by Nordea in all countries for all customer types,
- GIA Technology, Security and Change – where you will use your IT and cyber security knowledge to assess information security and IT processes and to learn about technologies used in the modern bank.
Depends on your knowledge and interest, you might also join teams auditing other areas of the bank.
What you will be doing:
- Learn:
- Dive into our training programs to understand auditing and our business,
- Work alongside experience auditors to learn best practices.
- Conduct Audits:
- Help plan and carry out audits to check how well Nordea's processes are working,
- Collect data, analyze it and look for areas we can improve.
- Report Findings:
- Write up what you find in clear, easy-to-understand reports,
- Share your insights and knowledge with the team and stakeholders.
At Nordea, we will support you with:

- Networking: Building your professional network within the organisation,
- Knowledge: Growing your understanding of banking. We will support you in obtaining and maintaining of the relevant audit certification (e.g. CIA or CISA),

The role will be based in Poland (in either Warsaw, Gdynia, Gdańsk or Łódź).

Your profile and background:
- University degree,
- Basic data analytic/programming skills (e.g. Python, SQL),
- Fluent in written and spoken English,
- Some understanding of or professional experience with banking or technology processes would be a significant advantage.
