We are Flex Wind. We provide comprehensive solutions for wind turbine installations and blade repairs in Europe, South America, and Africa. Currently, Flex Wind in Europe collaborates with nearly 200 technicians forming 10 teams.

We are now preparing for the upcoming season, which is expected to be very busy. 2024 will bring changes, expansion into new markets, and services. New installation projects, both onshore and offshore, as well as services, blade repairs, and major component replacements – all await us.

As a result, we are expanding the QHSE team.


The HSE Manager at Flex Wind plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program within the organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the HSE Manager is responsible for ensuring the implementation of health, safety, and environmental standards across all of our European operations. This role involves leading a team of HSE Coordinators working on construction and service sites for European onshore and offshore wind turbine projects. This will be an office-based position with sporadic site visits

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Promote a proactive HSE approach among all employees, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Lead, develop and manage a team of HSE Coordinators working remotely on projects.
  • Manage HSE related customer dialogue to align on expectations, improvements and strengthening collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with work environment, environmental legislation, local laws, and customer demands related to HSE matters.
  • Prepare and supervise the creation of relevant documentation, including but not limited to RAMS, safety notices, safety alerts and safety stand-downs and other relevant documents as required.
  • Generate and develop HSE training material and campaigns.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of HSE practices throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that the overall HSE management system is implemented and continuously developed in collaboration with other regional and global HSE functions
  • Conduct internal audits on HSE compliance and good practices.
  • Support and assist QHSE Group Manager in contact for third-party auditors in the EU and HSE authorities in connection with Flex Wind A/S.
  • Report to group functions on HSE matters, providing insights, recommendations, and updates.

 

Expectations:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the wind industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Ability to address complex technical and safety-related issues.
  • Experience in conducting internal audits and driving continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with European HSE regulations and practices.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH) is a plus.
